The Best Choice For Adult Dental Braces

December 27th, 2009

Adult Braces – Dental Suppliers

When you think about braces, the first thing that comes to mind is an adolescent teen, and may consider them as the teen’s rite of passage into adulthood. If you get that picture, you would be partially right. Many children and teens do wear braces. However, in recent decades, many adults are also turning to their orthodontist to get straight teeth.

In North America, the number of adults who wear braces is increasing. In fact, one in five orthodontic patients today is an adult. The truth is a crooked teeth or broken smile can cause real confidence problems. Some people even avoid smiling altogether to hide their crooked smile. If this describes you then you will be happy to know that you can get straight teeth at any age by simply visiting your orthodontist. With your initial consultation, they will be able to recommend the right treatment for you to get your self-confidence back. Isn’t it time you treated yourself to straight teeth and a smile that really shines?

With recent advancements in orthodontics, getting straight teeth as an adult isn’t difficult at all. In fact, you have many choices to suit your lifestyle. You can choose from the smaller metal braces. If invisibility really matters, you may even be able to choose the Invisalign system. Whichever system you choose, one thing is certain. As an adult you can have straight teeth.

Choices in Adult Braces

When choosing which style of braces to wear, your orthodontist will likely have recommendations. Here is a quick guide to help get you started. We will cover the three most popular choices in adult braces. There are actually a few different choices in braces on the Internet such as those at Yes Braces or SureSmile. Your orthodontist can recommend a system that fits with your dental needs.

Damon Braces

For most adults that require traditional brace systems, self-ligating braces or popularly known as Damon braces are usually the better choice. These types of braces do not need the round elastics or the ligatures that hold the arch wire in place. Along with advantages like lower friction and fast-working action, the absence of elastics makes it much less likely for the braces to get stained from coffee or cigarettes.

The Damon brace system is the invention of orthodontist, Dr. Dwight Damon. Because of the efficiency and advantages of this type of system, many manufacturers now produce the patented Damon brace system.

Damon braces include smaller metal brackets and a titanium arch wire. Damon brackets are less visible than other metal braces since they are smaller and with brackets that don’t require elastics for lesser stains. This type of system also tends to get your teeth straighten up faster and requires fewer visits to your orthodontist.

Damon braces are a good choice for many adults.

Clear or Ceramic Braces

Another popular choice for adults is clear braces. With this type of system, the brackets are clearer than regular braces. The only visible portion when you smile is the arch wire itself. Clear braces can be self-ligating or the more traditional ligating systems. Its transparency makes this type of brace system a popular choice for many adults. With clear braces, you can get straighter teeth, and you can smile with more self-confidence since the brackets blend in with your teeth.

Invisalign: Another Popular Choice

A more recent advancement in getting straight teeth is the Invisalign system. For many adults this is their choice for achieving a straighter smile. The Invisalign system is completely clear and less visible than any other type of traditional braces.

Invisalign does not include traditional braces or arch wires. Instead it consists of a series of aligning trays that the patient wears. The trays are removable, easily cleaned, and are an effective way to get straight teeth if you wear them as your orthodontist suggests. Usually a new tray is required every couple of weeks.

If your orthodontist says that you’re a candidate for the Invisalign this may be the right choice. With the invisibility of the alignment trays, it will be more difficult for others to detect. If you follow your orthodontist’s instructions, they are an effective way to get straight teeth.

Conclusion

If you have crooked teeth, or a broken smile from gaps or missing teeth, you don’t have to suffer any longer. There is a reason more adults are choosing to wear braces. A straighter brighter smile can really go a long way in boosting your confidence. Whether they recommend Damon braces, clear braces, or the Invisalign system, you are likely only a few visits away from straight teeth, and a better smile.

Teeth Whitening Costs Are Lower Than Ever Before – Get White Teeth While It Is Available.

November 3rd, 2009

These days the cost of teeth whitening can be quite
pricey. Many dentists charge anywhere from $150 to $250 or even more per arch. You have to pay this amount of money if you want to take the normal option with your dentist.

But time have changed where you only could get white teeth at the dentist. There are now many teeth whitening methods presented and most of them just dont work. Take for example baking soda. You can find this tip everywhere and maybe youve already tried it. You dont get any decent outcome with baking soda and in some cases it even damages your teeth.

Another system would be normal whitening toothpaste which you can get at your local drugstore. These products are very affordable though they are very uneffective. You really cant expect bright and white teeth from a normal toothpaste. There are no special ingredients. They are just branded in another way and now and again they are really aggressive and hurt your teeth.

The best system I came across was a at home whitening kit. Youve possibly seen them online because they are very popular right now. At first I was a little skeptical if I should give it a try, but thank the lord I gave it a shot. So I ordered one of the trial packages for a buck for sh and received the kit the other day. I read the instruction and all I had to do is applying the gel on every tooth.

I can tell you, the days are over when I thought the cost of teeth whitening are way too costly for me and I have to live with my ugly yellow teeth for the rest of my life.
After just one day my teeth were really much whiter then before and the results kept getting better and better.

My husband and friends were very exciting what I had done and wondered how I could afford this dental care. After I told them that I just invested a buck and got white teeth for life they thought I was joking. I could understand them because I would have thought that myself if one of my contacts told be this before but now I know it better. When I think back to the times where I looked in the mirror and saw my yellow teeth I couldnt smile at all.

Today I have nice white teeth and I can smile all day long. I didnt imagine this to work but Im very happy that I gave it a try. If you suffer from yellow teeth because of smoking of whatever I really recommend you get one of these free trial kits and I bet you wont believe the outcome.

Orthodontic Buying Guide

September 27th, 2009

Orthodontic Buying Guide – Dental Corporation of America

Segmentation is a tool that marketers use to identify target markets. Increasingly, purchasing managers are using the segmentation approach to determine which suppliers are the most critical to the goals of the organization.

Market Segmentation is based on low level targeting. Rather than targeting Dentists in general, dental industry marketers might target Orthodontists if they are promoting a product such as arch wire for braces. Hitting small niche target groups rather than a broad spectrum of less similar people is the key. Purchasing managers are beginning to use the same principals in their efforts to buy the most relevant products possible. For example, if a company sells orthodontic pliers, and their best seller is the Adams Plier, they will likely look for a supplier who not only carries the adams plier, but, does so at a low cost when compared to its competition. This same company will likely carry most of the other pliers that they need for standard orthodontic inventory, if they already carry the adams plier. This distributer can then be used as a supplier who offers all targeted products utilized by an orthodontist.

Another example can be seen when we look at plier racks. Plier racks are vast and can come in many different forms. However, some types of racks are more expensive, and some, are much more popular than others. If the most popular rack in the industry is determined to be the plier caddy, than one has no reason to sell and market other racks at the price point. The purchaser will see a specific supplier as one that is deep in the dental industry – to the point where they are only servicing orthodontists, and not all dentists in general. He will then likely find the supplier with the best price and service with regards to a particular product; in this case, a plier caddy.

The levels of risk associated with company purchases range from low to high – buying process for a risky purchase differs from the process for a routine purchase. The buying process for a routine purchase, such as most low cost items for example, is not nearly as stringent as that for high a risk purchase. For example, if one were to buy ring ligatures, or rubber bands for braces, the buying process would tend to be fairly simple and low in risk. Ring ligatures, rubber bands, and latex examination gloves are all very similar in look, quality, and price. Making a bad decision about ring ligatures is pretty tough, and even if you do make the wrong choice, its not going to affect your practice to a large degree. This can be seen as a low risk purchasing decision.

A product along the lines of brackets (for braces), though, can be a major decision. When an orthodontist puts braces on someone, the brackets used to secure the arch wire are typically in the individuals mouth for months, or even years. Buying a higher quality bracket is very important, because breaks can occur very easily with cheap product. If a bracket breaks, the orthodontist must fix it, and do so at no cost in many cases. This, cab be seen as a complete waste of time, resources, and money. When you look at the big picture, it makes a lot more sense to research brackets, find several suppliers, and determine which grade and price will be beneficial to your practice. A poor decision made in a risky purchase can end up costing the company a lot more in the end, even if the initial buy is low in cost compared to the alternative. High quality brackets are the only way to go when you are looking to make orthodontic purchases.

Laser Whitening For Your Teeth – What Will It Cost You?

September 20th, 2009

In this modern age, all of us want to look as good as we possibly can! Our cosmetic appearance is becoming increasingly important. Self confidence is always higher in people who know they look good. There is an easy way of increasing your cosmetic appearance nowadays, and it is through the method of laser teeth whitening. Ever since the treatment went mainstream, the public has had commercial access to it.

How Does Teeth Whitening By Laser Work?

When time passes, our teeth become more and more stained. This is caused by wear and tear on the teeth throughout the years. But also the use of cigarettes, coffee, wine, tea and soft drinks can cause your teeth to become an unsightly yellow.

Its the teeths enamel where these stains settle. The enamel is the thin film that protects your teeth by covering them. To make your enamel transparant again, the stains must be broken down. The natural whiteness of your teeth is once again revealed when the enamel has been made transparant again.

The stains are usually broken down by using a chemical named carbamide peroxide. This carbamide peroxide has hydrogen peroxide in it, which will be released as soon as it gets in contact with water. When the enamel gets penetrated by the hydrogen peroxide, its stains are broken down. Byproducts that are colorless are the only thing left. With the stains gone from the enamel, your teeth now look much more white.

The laser is not directly involved in the teeth whitening process. The carbamide peroxide gel on your teeth is targeted by this laser. The laser accelerates the process so that it will be done in around one hour. Normally, this would cost many days or even a week. Your teeth must not have hydrogen peroxide applied to them for too long. This could very well lead you to get teeth whitening enamel damage. Hydrogen peroxide is an extremely aggressive chemical. It not only breaks down stains. Your enamel is also slightly damaged.

What Does Laser Teeth Whitening Cost?

The technology behind teeth whitening is still pretty new. This treatment also requires a professional person to perform it. For this reason, the laser teeth whitening price is considered by many to be high. The treatment cannot yet be had for pennies on the dollar. You must assume that it will cost you at least a few hundred dollars. As the technology behind it gets better, this treatment will become cheaper and give you better results.

Most people will get satisfactory results with a single session. More sessions are required for some people. This is especially true for people with heavily stained teeth. When you return for repeated sessions, this is going to significantly impact the laser teeth whitening cost.

For those of you wanting to save some money, perhaps you should try at-home whitening kits.
Having your teeth whitened at the dentists office costs you the most. Over the counter strip and tray systems are cheaper, but they are more of a hassle. Inform yourself on the Internet and then choose the best option for you, personally. Always be careful when you are having your teeth whitened. You dont want to be a victim of teeth whitening side effects.

Teeth bleaching dentists are well trained in diagnosing and the reasons for your discolored teeth, and in recommending the appropriate treatment, based on how quickly you need results and how much you can afford to pay. Consulting with several teeth bleaching dentists before choosing one may give you an idea of which of them will charge the least, but other than that you can expect them to offer similar treatments. Good teeth bleaching dentists always provide lighten teeth through some procedures as follows:

Home tooth bleaching

Home tooth bleaching has taken a prominent place among those procedures which replace traditional visits to professional clinics. Home teeth bleaching is a popular dental procedure used to lighten stained teeth. Carbamide peroxide is the most commonly used active ingredient in home tooth bleaching systems. It breaks down into hydrogen peroxide and urea in aqueous solution. Although concentrations of 10% carbamide peroxide (equivalent to approximately 3% hydrogen peroxide) are most commonly used, tooth bleaching systems containing up to 22% carbamide peroxide are available for home use.

Office tooth bleaching

Office tooth bleaching provides the quickest and most effective way to whiten teeth. With office teeth bleaching, the whitening product is applied directly to the teeth. These products can be used in combination with heat, a special light, or a laser. The light and heat accelerate the whitening process. Results are seen in only 30 to 60-minute treatment. But, to achieve dramatic results, several appointments are usually needed. However, with laser-enhanced bleaching, dramatic results can be seen after the first treatment.

In Delhi in India, you will find a few expert dentists who are using teeth bleaching technique to whiten teeth at their own price. You can contact with Dr Supriya Bhatia, an experienced and competent, Family and Cosmetic Dentist who is using the latest and most scientifically advanced office teeth bleaching procedures ie Laser whitening to give you a dramatically whiter smile in less than an hour, apart from the regular home bleaching procedure.
